Coach Jacob Grosvenor

Jacob Grosvenor brings a strong football and futsal background, with experience across New Zealand and the United States.

Jacob has been playing football since the age of five and represented Canterbury throughout his youth at South Island Tournaments from ages 13–16. He made his senior debut for Halswell United at just 16 years old, before playing high school football for St Thomas of Canterbury College. He then spent four years in the United States playing for the University of Jamestown.

Jacob also played five years for the Canterbury United Futsal Dragons in the National League, winning the National League twice.

As a coach, Jacob holds a NZF B Licence and is a candidate for the 2026 NZF A Licence. He has been coaching for over 10 years, working with players from ages 5 through to adults.

His coaching experience includes serving as Assistant Coach of the Canterbury United Pride during the 2025 Women’s National League, as well as Volunteer Assistant Coach for the University of Jamestown men’s and women’s teams in 2021. During that season, the women’s team were crowned GPAC Champions and competed in the National Tournament.
